Coaches inspire educators and leaders to use technology to recreate equitable and ongoing access to high-quality learning. Coaches:

A. Create a shared vision and culture for using technology to learn and accelerate transformation through the coaching process.

The Change Agent is the first standard that sets up the remaining 6 standards for coaches. I view this standard as a way to enter through the doorway into pursuing a full implementation of the ISTE standards and entrance into the digital world as a coach. ISTE 4.1 introduces a coach to the broad opportunity of including technology into their teaching and learning methods to encourage high-quality learning. Indicator a starts us off with coaches creating a “shared vision and culture” around technology in their workplace as a means to inspire educators and leaders around them. The first step to doing this is to ensure that you are passionate about the utilization of technology in your own practice. 

1. Empowering Learners Through Choice. Looking back at all of my pieces of work throughout the DEL program, I continued finding myself pulled back to the opportunities I had to research about empowering learners and the amazing ways that technology can provide choice for students in their educational journey. This is my starting point for inspiring educators and leaders to implement educational technology, because it is what inspired me the most in my path to recreating equitable and ongoing access to high-quality learning.
   
   
2. After identifying what was my spark, I wanted to find something that represented my ability to demonstrate this standard, but from the side of a coach. A huge piece of being a productive Change Agent is to focus on the way in which you are interacting with those you are trying to influence. We were given the chance to look deeper into the coaching process and how you can best suit the educators needs that you are working with.
